Fun Times

Sleeping Beauty.

Cannon could care less about everything on the playground other than the bouncey things. He mostly likes to climb on and off them, and he bounces a little too.

Cannon discovering pizza.

A typical scene: Mom is sleepy, Hank is sleeping, Cannon is jumping/yelling/running/shrieking/flopping/laughing.

The New Guy

After 5 long days, they finally let us come home from the hospital. Cannon is a great big brother. He doesn't like to share attention, but he is super sweet and cute with Hank. He likes to put his face up close to Hank's, steals his pacifier so he can give it back, helps burp him (quite firmly), etc. He is a little like an elephant in a china shop, though--doesn't realize that he's not the smallest one around anymore.

Monkeyin' Around

Cannon's new brother Hank was born today! He decided to dress up as a monkey to celebrate.

Future Farmer? Yes, Definitely

Cannon and his Mama have been doing work-trade on a nearby farm every Monday since May. It's been awesome! We were a little sad that this past Monday was our last. He gets to play, "drive" the tractor and the delivery truck, watch the chickens, bunnies, goats, cows, and pigs, etc. and we come home with a huge box of produce each week--so much that we couldn't eat it all and have a freezer that is stocked for winter!

Did you know chickens eat cabbage? Me neither...

If the farmer gig doesn't work out maybe he'll join the pro surf circuit (he currently practices on Dad's longboard since we're land bound).

Being a landscaper is always an option...

Or a painter (Do you see Timothy's fingers at the side of the photo? Just for the record, we don't let him climb tall ladders without a spotter).

Or a builder (he built that towering car himself--are you impressed?!)

Maybe a librarian? He's very into books lately.

A podiatrist? He also loves to try on shoes and put shoes on other people.

I Can't Think of a Catchy Title

But Cannon is getting so big! We say that to one another everyday. And he's so stinkin' smart! We are amazed by him.

Although sometimes he plays in the mud in his socks, which is not that smart... but I'm pretty sure it's not the least smart thing he will ever do. Or maybe he thought the whole idea over and it was smart--he didn't get his feet dirty or cold while he was playing in the mud that day!

We're not sure why we have toys. Cannon is easily entertained by Dad's long board, some measuring cups, and anything with a lid. Oh, and did we mention he likes trucks?

He has been brushing his teeth in the car for awhile now. He loves to mimic, so thought it would be super cool to brush his teeth, and he did it in the car because his parents didn't love to have him walking around with a toothbrush to potentially choke on. :) But now he is into daily dental hygiene, so it happens in the bathroom (with his oh-so-pregnant mama and his should-have-been-a-hygienist dad).

Future Farmer?

The carrots in our farm share this week were so pretty (and tasty) that I wanted to take a picture. I tried to get Cannon to pose with them, but he was not into it. If he were talking, I'm sure he would have said, "Get those carrots off my rocket!"

Our favorite things in the farm share so far have been the peaches, cherries, and snap peas. But this week all of those were trumped by the corn--it is amazing! Cannon got his own mini-ear and ate it all by himself.

We may have mentioned that this fella loves anything with wheels... here is more proof. And no matter what size the vehicle, he generally chooses to use the steering wheel to drive it.
